if god is outside of nature and therefore cannot be proved or disproved by science, is atheism a form of blind faith?
after all, it cannot be defended on the basis of pure reason.. steven jay gould said;.
"science simply cannot by its legitimate methods adjudicate the issue of god's possible superintendence of nature.
You don't understand relativity. Time isn't changeable, it's simply relative to each individual. It says nothing about time being changeable or having a beginning or anything like that. Don't tackle subjects you know nothing about purely for the purpose of name-dropping a prominent scientist in order to add weight to what you are saying.
I can't speak for all atheists, but i personally am not guilty of knowing 'nothing about nothing'... i simply do not know everything about everything, & i reserve judgement on things until empirical evidence is presented. I am not adeist, as i do not know that the universe was not created, my personal opinion is that it probably was not, but i am happy to achnowledge that i could be proven wrong on that.
I am however atheist (& when it comes to the god of the bible, i am most definately an anti-theist, & i'm sure you needn't spend too much time guessing why), as the idea of a personal god (with whom one can have initimate fellowship) is demonstrably subjective to the point where to take someone elses testimony on it seriously would be favouritism in the extreme. Christians can believe what they want, but they deserve to be taken no more seriously than those who continue to spot Elvis every year. Because we know so much (no, not everything, but a hell of a lot) about the history of the Ambrahamic religions now, it is somewhat absurd to believe that any of the god's they worship are anything more than man-made. If the universe was created, then these god's had nothing to do with it. At least, they had about as much to do with it as the tooth fairy did with the invention of dental braces.

I've never met an atheist who believes that. I continue to meet christians who do though.
after coming into the truth who was your 1st crush on?.

I was born & raised in the truth. I don't remember finding many of the girls very attractive. One or two in my teens maybe, but they all had awful personalities. All of my real 'love interests' have been in the world.
how do you put the bible book of revelation into perspective?
do you see it as real?
metaphorical?
Revelation was just one of many apocalyptic books written in it's time. They were all much of a much, it's just that Revelation caught on more than the others and eventually became cannonised as a result. You could think of it as the 1st/2nd century equivelent of the Harry Potter books. There are lots of popular children's books today, but the Harry Potter books have caught on the most (i mean, how many other books today are being made into feature films before the series of books have even been finished?) & will likely be the only ones still remembered by the average Joe in years to come.

"...well, i think it is fair to say that if you were to...".
you can read it in context somewhere else probably.
I think they should keep away from subjects like baby-killing as well.

Did you just make an ad hominem attack on my strawman?

Richard Dawkins said this:

You can read it in context somewhere else probably. I think what we can see from this is that Richard Dawkins agrees that Atheists are just mere animals & therefore their opinions on God will be lacking in objectivity due to their wanting to indulge in their animal passions all night long & ultimately reject God, who is obviously Jesus.
I wonder how long it will be before someone gives me the "Oh but animals are sentient and have brains as well!" strawman...
i know while in the org we get told alot to tell everyone that we are jw's, cos its reputation is so good.
but that dosn't explain why people still refuse to answer the doors to them, or hide when they come aknocking.. so how are jw's really viewed by the outside world?.
It was only once i left that it become obvious to me just how WEIRD they all are.
